Robert W. McMurray, M.D.
Dr. Robert McMurray is a board-certified rheumatologist with over 35 years of rheumatology and internal medicine experience. A medical school graduate of the University of North Carolina, Dr. McMurray completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Arkansas before completing subspecialty training in Rheumatology at the University of Missouri. He remained on faculty there for 5 years before matriculating to the University of Mississippi. Dr. McMurray served at both the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Hospital for 19 years; where he provided clinical services in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine, education for medical students, residents and fellows, and research that resulted in over 70 publications.
During this time, he achieved the rank of Professor of Medicine, was Department of Medicine Teacher of the Year (2003), was Chief of the VA Medical Service for 2 years, and served 10 years as the Division Director of Rheumatology at the University of Mississippi Department of Medicine. At Belle Meade Medical and Madison Medical, he currently supervises and collaborates with PA’s Miranda Sudduth, Caroline Baldwyn, and Haleigh Bates to provide the highest quality Rheumatologic care possible and looks forward to continuing his career providing his medical service to the community.
